YY’s practice revolves around how the the absurd, habitual and hyper-labelled world is lived and perceived, Through the means of the artistic practice, they aim to explore how to reclaim life from the obsession of meaning, the everyday, the gaze, and well, the attachment to life itself. Heavily inspired by Albert Camus’s notion of living lucidly and George Perec’s idea of the infra ordinary, concepts that parallel on the perception of the overlooked and the mundane, the works intend to invite observation, further critical thinking and self reflection, ultimately creating a space for the audience to savour and ponder about life, without seeking existential meaning from it.
