Yolk | YY | Chan Yin Yew
Illustrator | Graphic Novelist | Frame by frame Animator and Artist-wannabe
Chan Yin Yew (b. 2003) is a multimedia artist-in-progress based in Singapore, whose practice emerges from a confrontation with nihilistic thought and the existential tension between individuality and collective existence. In response, their works examine the intersections of identity, absurdism, mental health, spectatorship, and social psychology, tracing how these concepts shape our perception of being. This exploration manifests across diverse media, including painting, video, illustration, animation, and installation.
YY is currently pursuing their Bachelor's in Fine Arts Degree in Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, where they got their Diploma in Animation and Illustration Design in 2019.
